NOVA Code Camp - 10 Oct 2009

John and crew participated in the Fall code camp in Reston.  Jeff Schoolcraft and his volunteers did a great job of putting on a good show.  There were about 100 people there and they were ready to talk code.

I sat through most of the Silverlight sessions which were pretty good.  Frank LaVigne demo'd some cool stuff using deep zoom and silverlight.

Philadelphia Code Camp, October 17, 2009

John will be at the Philly code cam.  Topic will be Silverlight LOB Apps.  See you there.

I don't know why they constantly pick me to be the first speaker of the day in my track, but it happened again.  Ususally when I'm out of town, I quip, "I guess the look to see who's coming the farthest distance and then put them up first in the schedule."  All joking aside, it was nice to get my presentation out of the way early, so I could enjoy the presentations the rest of the day.

It started with Todd Snyder of Infragistics speaking about RIA Framework services, followed by John Angelini talking Silverlight Animations.  The main man, Bill Wolf will be up next with "Data binding in Silverlight".

Last night, I went out with the gang from VA, Joel Cochran, Kevin Griffin, and Steve Presley.  We ended up at Drexel Line Billiards where we spent a couple of hours shooting pool.   I now know why pro's quit playing when they hit their 60's.  I can barely move today.  Stiff, sore, and my back is killing me from bending all night.
